January Meeting:
Button It Up!
- Judy and Barb
For the January meeting, Barb Niedermaier and Judy Wilkinson taught the group how to make polymer buttons. With their extensive experience (one class in Greensboro last fall), they were able to share the basics of button-making, including the creation of a millefiori tube. Barb brought a wide variety of sample buttons for creative inspiration, and the guild members soon resembled a class of kindergarteners playing with Play-Doh. We were even able to run four toaster ovens without blowing any circuit breakers – always a plus! Click here for pictures of the fun.
The Knitalong Begins
The guild voted on choices for a knitalong and decided on the Vitamin D sweater. In case “knitalong” is a new term for you, a knitalong occurs when a group of knitters decide to knit the same project at the same time. Linda Martin kicked off the project at the December meeting, and the race is on. (Okay, it’s not really a contest….)
