Our first guild retreat was a success. Many thanks go to talented and hard-working members Beth Carter and Sharon Dintaman.
We arrived EARLY Saturday morning for a home-style breakfast followed by a few hours of knitting and socializing on the grounds. Take a look at the view of the lodge from our rooms on top of the hill:

After a delicious lunch (yes, we ate large quantities of terrific food all weekend), we began our afternoon activities. Pat Kirtland from Kirtland's Yarn Barn in Andersonville, VA, showed us how to start an entrelac project. We responded by shopping from the yummy containers of Noro, Araucania, Rowan, and other yarns that she brought. We also had the opportunity to purchase cool stuff from Robin Hasty (handmade soaps, stitch markers, metal hooks and hand-crafted baskets), Mary Martin (jewelry), and Beth Carter (Mary Kay products).

We participated in more knitting, enjoyed another great meal and rested briefly prior to our pajama party, where there was more knitting, eating and drinking. (Is there a theme here? Apparently knitters only need food and yarn to enjoy life....)

On Sunday, Sharon Dintaman treated us to a "Yarn-Tasting", with sample yarns from Richmond stores, Lettuce Knit and the Knitting Basket .

Our Graves Mountain adventure included great scenery, great company, and .... the infamous PJ Party.
